I shot this picture about one-half mile south of the south end Lineville in the early 1990s and did a double take when I read the name on the nose. I chased it a couple of miles further to Pine Hole bridge and got another shot. Was "Roctail" a joke, or the work of a disgruntled employee? By 1995 the paint job was corrected. Did anyone else see this?

This IC locomotive was on the point of R208 on September 14, 2008, obviously a Hurricane Ike reroute. Although it was a designated auto rack train, there were several freight cars behind the engines. Highway 49 bridge, Lineville, AL in background.

CSX P925-27 northbound office car train at Haynes Road (Shaddix Pulpwood) crossing in Lineville on 2-27-10 just before it got too dark to shoot, even at ISO 1600. This made my day, and I haven't seen any other pictures of it in Alabama during this trip. It headed up the S&NA from Birmingham according to Michael Gilmour.

Although he called Q212, I've got to believe it was R212 at the north end of Lineville on 2-14-09 since he was a reroute. Railfan friend Frank Orona informed me the lead unit CSXT 8790 was a former Norfolk Southern SD60 in a post on ALRAILS!
